A strange glow calls me from my book

Come away. Look about:
Orangish yellow light behind
The lowering clouds --
Even the grass is burnished.
Poplars glow before mountains,
Heavy in dark relief--
The whole world is written in
Gold leaf, every branch and sheaf
Illuminated, testament to glory.

  1. We must have been reading different books which tainted our perceptions of that "golden" color.

  4. This is lovely....never thought of the orangish sky as being 'gold leaf,' but from now on I will. Beautiful thought to hold on to today.

  10. That's definitely one of those evenings when God is shouting, "Look what I can do!" ... smiles.
