Sing the Bones
I am losing all my bones,
Loosing self and stance,
Heaping like kindling,
Losing all my bones.
Put me to the fire,
Sing me bone by bone:
Croon incus, phalanx,
Pelvis, rib and stapes.
Hum humerus, hum lacrimal
Chant deepest femur note.
"sing me bone by bone"
ReplyDeleteI like that.
I love the sound of resigned contentment as each voice is added to the choir.
ReplyDeletenice....the singing bone by bone...its like a ritual rememberance of what held us together....pretty cool thought...
ReplyDeletehey i fixed your link at dverse....
Without bones, who would we be?
ReplyDeleteWe definitely could not stand our ground. Smiles.
I like the first bit: "I am losing all my bones, loosing self and stance." The words speak to the reality of disintegation that is the end of life. And the "sing bone by bone" is perfect.
